Sondra Meszaros graduated with honours from the Ontario College of Art and Design and received her MFA from the University of Windsor. She currently teaches in the School of Visual Arts in the Drawing Department at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary. In 2018, Meszaros was awarded a residency in the prestigious International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York.
Her works can be found in numerous private and corporate collections across North America and Europe. Her feminist art practice takes the form of repurposed photography and collage, among other process, addressing the historical influence of women in the arts and their cultural roles – often altering how women art portrayed in historical images, subverting the meaning and value of the subjects.
